This time these young ones from Bengaluru’s Talagatapura have addressed a letter in style of a poem respectfully calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Siddhar Ramaya urging them to take care of this civic mess and fix the roads and the infrastructure issues in Bengaluru. I quickly go back to Harish who brings us those breaking inputs. Harish this letter in fact as one can see is also highlighting that it is addressed to prime minister Modi as well not just the state’s chief minister Siddhar Raaya in fact these are children who are pleading for good roads they are young ones from one of the areas in Bengaluru they’ve addressed this letter in the style of a poem respectfully calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Siddhar Ramaya don’t forget the timing of this entire letter is also extremely significant given that it’s prime minister’s birthday as well and school children have now penned this letter to the Karnataka CM Sidar and Prime Minister Modi urging them to take care of the civic mess in the IT city. Uh this is when the entire city is now collapsing amid uh the heavy rainfall, the constant traffic jams, the number of potholes uh and nothing is being done. As Harish was also highlighting that it’s not just the Congress government. In fact, the previous government like uh the BJPJDS government also did not do anything to address the civic mess. Many have been talking about how money is allocated to the state of Karnataka but nothing is done and so now even children are flagging concerns with regards to this entire civic mess that’s plaguing Bengaluru. As we also informed you earlier, big tech companies like Blackpark are also leaving uh the IT corridor like the outer ring road, the ORR which is known to be the hub of major big tech companies and Blackpuck is now decided to relocate its offices as Harish was also highlighting that we are moving out of ORR and in fact looking towards areas like North Bengaluru which seem more viable as an option perhaps also because there is uh metro work that is happening at the OR which has not really been finished in terms of a deadline. Rohani Swami joins me on the phone line with those breaking inputs. So Rohani take us through what is this poem all about? Also the timing of this is so significant given that it’s also addressed to Prime Minister Modi. Is this also an indication that there’s complete loss of faith in the state government? That’s true. Right. They think that now if their voices are not being heard for no close to two years where they’ve been telling the state government that there are potholes all over and they’ve actually had if you see those visuals they put ported plants around this major uh pothole in that area that’s the route that take to school as well and that time time and again when they’ve been speaking so it hasn’t been heard they’ve addressed their letter or rather it’s a poem that they’ve addressed to Modi Tata and Sidra Tata and Tata is in grandpa in in Canada or in South Indian languages as well and this very respectfully they’re trying to say here our plea now this is again a stark reminder of potholes and issues that are being talked about time and again where across the city it is being ridden with potholes children are complaining writing postcards hundreds of them and then you have also companies now who are saying that they’re going to withdraw from one particular area and move to another area because the entire outer ring road area is filled with potholes the question remains that Karnataka deputy chief minister is also the Bangalore city minister. He says he’s allocated 50 crores for 14 important assembly constituencies and 25 to the others as 25 crores to the others as well. Where is the work happening? Finally it boils down to whether the money may be allocated the contractors doing the job and and finally even the patchup work happens back to places where they said the patchup had happened. In less than 24 to 40 hours a rain 48 hours the rain comes and the entire thing is again come back to craters. So the question is what kind of work are you delivering to the people? Many thanks to you Rohani for bringing out all those latest inputs in that new story. I quickly go back to Harish Harish the other uh issue or the problem that’s plaguing Bengalur is also poor sanitation and waste management. Uh who is to take responsibility for it? Particularly when we look at markets, they are strewned with garbage. All it takes is one torrential downpour and the markets are strewn with garbage. Uh the drains are clogged and if you look at the problem, there’s always this blame game going on between the vendors and uh the civic officials. Well, Akancha, right now there is absolute chaos as far as civic administration in Bangalore is concerned. uh the solid waste is handled by a different company now called Bangalore solid waste or uh Bangalore solid waste management is a different uh entity that’s been floated uh for bigger projects you have something called as we smile although nobody’s smiling about the kind of work that they’re taking about the other aspect is now we’ve divided the corporation the BBMP into multiple corporations the GBA is in place and most places people don’t even know who their commissioner is we do not have a elected body for the last 5 years uh a little over 5 years. In fact, Bangalore doesn’t have elected municipal council at all. It’s bureaucrats who are running the show here. It’s it’s ministers who are running the show here. No cooperators at all. So, it’s all the more difficult for people to go out and reach out to the right people and ask them or hold them accountable. That’s been the real problem of Bangalore because the administration has completely collapsed. It’s a oneman show of sorts now. It’s just Deputy Chief Mr. DK Shukumar who is the district in charge minister. But then remember he has too much on his plate. He’s a deputy chief minister. He has important portfolios with him. Uh he also has to now ensure that he’s also in the power tussle. That’s a different matter. And Bangalore is huge. Can he look at the day-to-day problem of Bangalore. Can he for example go to outer ring road and see if the solid waste is being taken care of? If there is dirt and muck on the road. Impossible to do that in a huge city like Bangalore which has traffic issues. And you’re looking at a man who has to handle the party. He’s the KPCC president who’s also the deputy chief minister. And that’s perhaps one of the main reason why we’ve seen largely lip service from politicians. And whether it’s in this government or the previous one, unfortunately successive governments have failed the city. And perhaps there is some sort of arrogance within the government that irrespective of how the infrastructure is, the investment keeps coming into Bangalore. All right. Blackberry. .

.16 Good roads. This time these young ones
.32 from Bengaluru’s Talagatapura have
.88 addressed a letter in style of a poem
.279 respectfully calling Prime Minister
.8 Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Siddhar
.719 Ramaya urging them to take care of this
.08 civic mess and fix the roads and the
.96 infrastructure issues in Bengaluru. I
.68 quickly go back to Harish who brings us
.359 those breaking inputs. Harish this
.519 letter in fact as one can see is also
.439 highlighting that it is addressed to
.519 prime minister Modi as well not just the
.599 state’s chief minister Siddhar Raaya in
.6 fact these are children who are pleading
.2 for good roads they are young ones from
.32 one of the areas in Bengaluru they’ve
.48 addressed this letter in the style of a
.399 poem respectfully calling Prime Minister
.32 Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Siddhar
.079 Ramaya don’t forget the timing of this
.76 entire letter is also extremely
.36 significant given that it’s prime
.879 minister’s birthday as well and school
.079 children have now penned this letter to
.12 the Karnataka CM Sidar and Prime
.76 Minister Modi urging them to take care
.879 of the civic mess in the IT city. Uh
.04 this is when the entire city is now
.04 collapsing amid uh the heavy rainfall,
.0 the constant traffic jams, the number of
.4 potholes uh and nothing is being done.
.759 As Harish was also highlighting that
.0 it’s not just the Congress government.
.68 In fact, the previous government like uh
.0 the BJPJDS government also did not do
.28 anything to address the civic mess. Many
.96 have been talking about how money is
.439 allocated to the state of Karnataka but
.84 nothing is done and so now even children
.88 are flagging concerns with regards to
.439 this entire civic mess that’s plaguing
.0 Bengaluru. As we also informed you
.079 earlier, big tech companies like
.32 Blackpark are also leaving uh the IT
.28 corridor like the outer ring road, the
.36 ORR which is known to be the hub of
.0 major big tech companies and Blackpuck
.64 is now decided to relocate its offices
.68 as Harish was also highlighting that we
.32 are moving out of ORR and in fact
.2 looking towards areas like North
.52 Bengaluru which seem more viable as an
.72 option perhaps also because there is uh
.84 metro work that is happening at the OR
.04 which has not really been finished in
.08 terms of a deadline. Rohani Swami joins
.64 me on the phone line with those breaking
.239 inputs. So Rohani take us through what
.8 is this poem all about? Also the timing
.879 of this is so significant given that
.64 it’s also addressed to Prime Minister
.08 Modi. Is this also an indication that
.0 there’s complete loss of faith in the
.84 state government?
.84 That’s true. Right. They think that now
.68 if their voices are not being heard for
.36 no close to two years where they’ve been
.519 telling the state government that there
.959 are potholes all over and they’ve
.879 actually had if you see those visuals
.879 they put ported plants around this major
.2 uh pothole in that area that’s the route
.28 that take to school as well and that
.84 time time and again when they’ve been
.68 speaking so it hasn’t been heard they’ve
.599 addressed their letter or rather it’s a
.84 poem that they’ve addressed to Modi Tata
.12 and Sidra Tata and Tata is in grandpa in
.0 in Canada or in South Indian languages
.84 as well and this very respectfully
.519 they’re trying to say here our plea now
.64 this is again a stark reminder of
.64 potholes and issues that are being
.4 talked about time and again where across
.959 the city it is being ridden with
.8 potholes children are complaining
.319 writing postcards hundreds of them and
.56 then you have also companies now who are
.56 saying that they’re going to withdraw
.92 from one particular area and move to
.239 another area because the entire outer
.319 ring road area is filled with potholes
.64 the question remains that Karnataka
.64 deputy chief minister is also the
.0 Bangalore city minister. He says he’s
.84 allocated 50 crores for 14 important
.159 assembly constituencies and 25 to the
.08 others as 25 crores to the others as
.319 well. Where is the work happening?
.799 Finally it boils down to whether the
.12 money may be allocated the contractors
.2 doing the job and and finally even the
.0 patchup work happens back to places
.959 where they said the patchup had
.64 happened. In less than 24 to 40 hours a
.04 rain 48 hours the rain comes and the
.04 entire thing is again come back to
.04 craters. So the question is what kind of
.959 work are you delivering to the people?
.36 Many thanks to you Rohani for bringing
.44 out all those latest inputs in that new
.6 story. I quickly go back to Harish
.12 Harish the other uh issue or the problem
.479 that’s plaguing Bengalur is also poor
.479 sanitation and waste management. Uh who
.68 is to take responsibility for it?
.759 Particularly when we look at markets,
.52 they are strewned with garbage. All it
.36 takes is one torrential downpour and the
.84 markets are strewn with garbage. Uh the
.4 drains are clogged and if you look at
.479 the problem, there’s always this blame
.4 game going on between the vendors and uh
.199 the civic officials.
.56 Well, Akancha, right now there is
.56 absolute chaos as far as civic
.0 administration in Bangalore is
.28 concerned. uh the solid waste is handled
.919 by a different company now called
.759 Bangalore solid waste or uh Bangalore
.84 solid waste management is a different uh
.919 entity that’s been floated uh for bigger
.8 projects you have something called as we
.88 smile although nobody’s smiling about
.24 the kind of work that they’re taking
.6 about the other aspect is now we’ve
.32 divided the corporation the BBMP into
.8 multiple corporations the GBA is in
.88 place and most places people don’t even
.919 know who their commissioner is we do not
.919 have a elected body for the last 5 years
.32 uh a little over 5 years. In fact,
.08 Bangalore doesn’t have elected municipal
.4 council at all. It’s bureaucrats who are
.96 running the show here. It’s it’s
.32 ministers who are running the show here.
.84 No cooperators at all. So, it’s all the
.68 more difficult for people to go out and
.6 reach out to the right people and ask
.68 them or hold them accountable. That’s
.68 been the real problem of Bangalore
.44 because the administration has
.039 completely collapsed. It’s a oneman show
.12 of sorts now. It’s just Deputy Chief Mr.
.6 DK Shukumar who is the district in
.36 charge minister. But then remember he
.52 has too much on his plate. He’s a deputy
.12 chief minister. He has important
.96 portfolios with him. Uh he also has to
.44 now ensure that he’s also in the power
.199 tussle. That’s a different matter. And
.88 Bangalore is huge. Can he look at the
.44 day-to-day problem of Bangalore. Can he
.52 for example go to outer ring road and
.28 see if the solid waste is being taken
.639 care of? If there is dirt and muck on
.56 the road. Impossible to do that in a
.639 huge city like Bangalore which has
.08 traffic issues. And you’re looking at a
.56 man who has to handle the party. He’s
.96 the KPCC president who’s also the deputy
.039 chief minister. And that’s perhaps one
.88 of the main reason why we’ve seen
.24 largely lip service from politicians.
.24 And whether it’s in this government or
.6 the previous one, unfortunately
.44 successive governments have failed the
.88 city. And perhaps there is some sort of
.6 arrogance within the government that
.52 irrespective of how the infrastructure
.199 is, the investment keeps coming into
.88 Bangalore.
.68 All right. Blackberry.
